Born on the coast of southern California, Cheryl got an early start drawing from magazines in grammar school.  She carried on her love of art through high school and went on to graduate with a BA in fine art from Chico State University.  In her early years, her primary instruction came from David Newcomb, Marvin Schmidt and Ken Morrow.

After college, her focus switched to graphic arts as a way to provide financial support for herself and her young son.  This creative field offered her the opportunity to develop strong composition and marketing skills.

Her current re-entry into the field of fine art combines her strong sense of composition with her insatiable passion for color.  As was her focus during her academic studies, she continues to be drawn to the human figure as her main source of inspiration, equally infusing other subjects with the same vibrant life force she claims as the importance and drive behind her work.

Cheryl spends much of her time teaching art in Oregon, Arizona and California, and finds solace when painting in her rustic studio in the backwoods of Oregon.

She currently studies under: Gabriel Mark Lipper and Joseph Todorovich. She has also studied with Roni Marsh, Ilene Gienger-Stanfield, Southern Oregon Art Institute, Albert Handell, Margaret Dyer, and Clive Tyler.
